
K-pop stars are achieving more milestones with each passing day, and we could not be happier about it. South Korean girl band BLACKPINK’s member Lisa has now added another feather to her cap. She will soon make history as the first-ever Korean artist to perform at the prestigious 97th Academy Awards 2025.
The monumental announcement was made official by the Oscars’ social media page, much to the excitement of her fans. The post read, “Three global superstars. One epic Oscars moment. Doja Cat, LISA of Blackpink, and RAYE take the stage for a showstopping celebration of cinema. Watch the Oscars LIVE Sunday, March 2, at 7e/4p on ABC and Hulu, with Conan O’Brien hosting. Expect the unexpected—only at the #Oscars.” As per chatter, the trio will be performing their debut collaboration, Born Again.
Besides the trio, pop sensation Ariana Grande and Broadway star Cynthia Erivo are both set to showcase their talents during the ceremony. The award ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2. The academy announced that the Best Original Song nominees will not be performed this year, breaking away from its year-long tradition.
Meanwhile, Lisa’s new collaboration Born Again with Doja Cat and Raye has been receiving major attention in the music world. The track debuted at number 69 on Billboards’s Hot 100 last week, making it the K-pop star’s highest-ranking solo track on the list. Born Again is part of her debut-full length album, Alter Ego which will release on February 28. Lisa also recently made her acting debut with White Lotus Season 3.
Talking about BLACKPINK, the group has announced their world tour in 2025. The four members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa confirmed the same with a video clip that shows the four performing on stage, while the words BLACKPINK 2025 WORLD TOUR pop up.
