Diljit Dosanjh’s film, Punjab 95, based on the late human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra will not be released on February 7. A couple of days back, Diljit unveiled the teaser and also announced the release date. However, the singer-actor recently took to social media to share that the date has been delayed.
He wrote, “We are very sorry, and it pains us to inform you that the movie Punjab 95 will not release on 7th Feb due to circumstances beyond our control.”

He also shared a photo of Khalra and added, “I pray to the Guru, who identifies with truth, to keep this light lit.”

For the uninitiated, Jaswant Singh Khalra was a human rights activist. Over the span of ten years, he investigated the cremation of thousands of unidentified bodies in Punjab and uncovered human rights violations. He was kidnapped in 1995 and subsequently murdered. The film is helmed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies.
