Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan sustained multiple injuries after an intruder reportedly stabbed him at his home in Bandra. Currently, Saif is in recovery at Lilavati Hospital where he underwent surgery. His family is safe and several members visited him at the hospital. The Bandra police’s investigation into the horrific incident is underway. Here’s everything we know so far:

Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Bandra home

On Wednesday night, around 2:30 am, an intruder broke into Saif Ali Khan’s home in Bandra. The actor was reportedly stabbed six times with a sharp object. The incident was initially reported as a burglary attempt. The individual has not been identified yet.

He intervened when he noticed a scuffle between his son’s nanny and the intruder

As per reports, the intruder was first seen in Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s sons Taimur and Jeh’s room. Jeh’s nanny confronted the man and was injured during the scuffle. She sustained injuries on her wrists and hands. Saif allegedly intervened and was attacked in the process.

Saif was rushed to the hospital

The actor was taken to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent treatment. A team of special doctors operated on Saif. He had six injuries including two deeper wounds and one injury close to the spinal cord. His spinal fluid reportedly leaked out due to the attacker’s weapon.

The police registered a case

According to reports, the Bandra police registered a case under sections of robbery, trespassing and causing grievous hurt while committing lurking house-trespass. 20 teams have been formed to arrest the intruder. Encounter specialist Daya Nayak was also seen visiting Saif’s home.

CCTV Footage of the attacker was leaked

Later last night, alleged CCTV footage of the attacker fleeing from the scene did the rounds of social media. While there is no confirmation at present, reports suggest that the attacker was captured leaving through the building’s staircase.

Kareena Kapoor Khan issued a statement requesting privacy

On the same night, Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a statement. It reads, “It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage.”
