Long back, in one of his interviews, SS Rajamouli stated that making Mahabharata is his dream. The filmmaker also stated that it will take a lot of time for the film to materialise, and that he still needs a lot of expertise to bring out the epic. On Sunday, director SS Rajamouli walked in as the chief guest for the pre-release event of Nani’s upcoming film HIT 3. The director remembered his personal bonding with Nani. In the same vein, when the director was asked about a rumour – that Nani was doing a character in Mahabharata. Rajamouli responded in affirmative. While he did not say which character Nani would play, he confirmed that the actor will be part of the epic. “Definitely, Nani would be part of the film, that’s fix,” said Rajamouli, much to the delight of the crowd.
Later in his speech, the director expressed gladness to see Nani’s growth as an actor. The actor and director collaborated for the film Eega (2012) and since then, they share a great bond. In fact, Rajamouli did a cameo in one of Nani’s films, Majnu. Rajamouli was the star attraction at the event. Throughout the do, many fans have been chanting about an update about the director’s upcoming film SSMB29. And at one point, the host even made an attempt to ask about an update from the Mahesh Babu-starrer, to which the director funnily expressed his anger (with a gesture).
Nani thanked Rajamouli for accepting his invitation and gracing the pre-release event. “I messaged Rajamouli garu requesting him to attend the event. He was shooting for his film, but I won’t say which film it is (referring to #SSMB29) as everyone knows about it,” he said. He added,“I needed to ask him, but I wasn’t sure whether he would come but he instantly agreed and came to the shooting after packing up his film.”
Adivi Sesh and Vishwak Sen who were part of the first and second instalment of the Sailesh Kolanu directorial HIT franchise graced the event too.
