The wait is almost over! Aamir Khan’s much-anticipated sports drama Sitaare Zameen Par has officially received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Directed by RS Prasanna, the film’s trailer has been awarded a UA 13+ rating, meaning it’s suitable for viewers above the age of 13 with parental guidance. Certified by the Mumbai Regional Office on April 25, the trailer clocks in at 3 minutes and 29 seconds, offering a heartfelt glimpse into what promises to be an emotional and inspiring story.
Dubbed as the spiritual successor to Aamir’s 2007 critically acclaimed film Taare Zameen Par, the new addition shifts its focus to the world of sports. Aamir steps into the role of an alcoholic coach who trains specially-abled children with dreams of competing in the Paralympics. With Aamir’s acting powerhouse and a heartwarming plot, this is a role that promises to tug at heartstrings while delivering a fresh narrative.

Produced by Aamir Khan Films LLP, Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia Deshmukh and Darsheel Safary, the latter returning in a new, pivotal role. While Taare Zameen Par spotlighted the struggles of a dyslexic child, Ishaan Awasthy, Sitaare Zameen Par aims to celebrate perseverance, hope, and second chances while set against the backdrop of the world of sports.
Initially, rumours suggested the trailer is set to premiere alongside Salman Khan’s Eid release Sikandar. However, reports have now confirmed that it will hit the screens with Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2. This is a move aiming to capture maximum audience attention.

The film was originally scheduled for release at the end of next month on May 30 but was pushed back to secure a better box office window and avoid any clash with another film. So, mark your calenders as Sitaare Zameen Par is slated for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025.
