Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey is all set to take on one of the most transformative roles of his career. The actor has reportedly joined hands with Pathaan director Siddharth Anand for an international project titled White, which will see him portray globally revered spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Set against the backdrop of Colombia’s 52-year-long civil war, the upcoming project explores Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s instrumental role in the peace process that helped heal a fractured nation. Production is currently underway in Colombia, with filming slated to begin in July.
The film marks the directorial debut of ad filmmaker Montoo Bassi and is being co-produced by Peacecraft Pictures, along with Anand and producer Mahaveer Jain.
It is touted to be a global thriller which promises to blend real-world history with compelling storytelling. The actor, known for his nuanced performances, has reportedly undergone a significant transformation for the role. Recently, he was seen sporting a new look as he posed for a photo with Siddharth Anand and Mahaveer. In the photo, Vikrant can be seen with slightly long hair and a thick moustache. The image has only added to the buzz surrounding the ambitious film.
As per reports, the makers described White as a tribute to how ancient Indian wisdom contributed to a monumental act of peace in the modern world. Vikrant met Ravi Shankar in October last year to prepare for the film. It is being developed as a multilingual project, reportedly shot in both English and Spanish. White is shaping up to be a project that merges thought-provoking storytelling with a powerful performance at its core.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Anand is currently busy with Shah Rukh Khan’s King. This film marks their reunion after the blockbuster film Pathaan. Vikrant, on the other hand, has a lot of exciting projects lined up. Among them are Arjun Ustara, Aankhon Ku Gustaakhiyan and Yaar Jigri.
