Preity Zinta is furious about recent allegations on her. The actress took to X, formerly Twitter, to address allegations of an Rs. 18 crore loan write-off by New India Cooperative Bank. Calling the claims completely untrue, Preity stated that no loan on her name was written off by the troubled New India Cooperative Bank Ltd.

According to a MoneyLife report, New India Cooperative Bank is facing financial irregularities due to alleged internal corruption. The report suggests that loans up to Rs 25 crores were approved without any information given to the branch managers. Many of these loans reportedly became non-performing assets (NPAs) within a year. This is allegedly due to fund mismanagement and diversion. Now the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been urged to take strict action against the bank’s mismanagement.

One of the controversial loan reports includes Preity Zinta, whose loan of Rs 18 crore was reportedly written off. The actress issued several statements on social media, also slamming the media professional who shared the allegations against her. “So much misinformation going around but thank god for social media and thank god for X ! I have also gone to court and spent a tonne of money fighting cases that go on & on & on. I think it’s time we start holding them responsible right here so there is some accountability in the future. I’m definitely going to start naming all these journalists that write articles without following up or investigating the stories.
